Chase the Sun -23/6/18

Wayne and a team of his work colleagues are taking part in https://www.chasethesun.org -  a 205 mile cycle ride in the time it takes the sun to come up and set!  It happens this Saturday and they are raising money for Marie Curie so it would be great if everyone who reads this could donate just a little via this link

It's going to be a very difficult challenge leaving the Isle of Sheppey, Kent at dawn and hopefully arriving in Burnham-on-sea, Somerset at dusk - here's hoping they make it!

A funny old week

Never been in a police van until this week - can't say too much at this point but it involved saving schedule one breeding waders! and then today had an Osprey circling above my head at Messingham and spent a brilliant few hours with John, John and Eddy also at MSQ looking for bugs and this is what we saw

Athous haemorrhoidalis - Click Beetle

Blue-tailed Damselfly - try not to put out of focus pics on here but this is the rufescens form which I hadn't noticed before

Golden-bloomed Grey Longhorn Beetle (Agapanthia villosoviridescens)

Brimstone Caterpillar

Yellow-tail moth caterpillar

Tortoise Beetle - sp to be confirmed

Wasp Beetle

Viburnum Beetle larvae

Drinker

 Unknown!

These were taken by Eddy and awaiting id confirmation but maybe Bruchus rufipes which would be a good find this far north

 and finally a fledgling Treecreeper
