Too much of a good thing!

Yes bizarrely I am considering whether too much nature in your Normanby garden is a good thing - for the last two months we have been plagued with local Mallards from the park causing havoc in the pond and now we have a Mole causing havoc with the lawn and heading towards the pond. Why so bothered? well for the past couple of weeks our pond has been alive with Newt activity with egg laying and displaying activity galore.  So we have bought a humane mole trap to try to get the little blighter before it comes up under the pond and punctures the lining but can we catch it, can we heck, it's driving us mad and we can almost hear the mole laughing at us so if any one knows the knack of how to catch it please leave a comment.
Birding wise on Saturday we found a Spoonbill at Alkborough and also had 4 Little Gulls and 5 Black Terns and last night saw the return of the Great White Egret.

  1. I've just released a mole in the garden 20 feet from the pond! It was either destined to us or remain in the jaws of a cat!
