So a gloriously sunny day and 1400 riders ready for the off at Ballycastle, Wayne completed the 127km course including the optional Torr Head section in around 5hrs 17m roughly 40th place for the Torr Head segment so not bad for an old one!
The Glens and Coast Route features the breathtaking rugged coastline and the romantic landscape of the glens. This route is geared towards cyclists who are used to pounding out 80-100km routes on a regular basis. The route begins with a steady climb through the magical Glens of Antrim to Glenarm before heading north along the world famous Antrim coast road. At Cushendun, cyclists have a BIG decision to make. Turn left and you will find yourself back in Ballycastle after 20km with one long steady climb to finish. Turn right and the infamous Torr Head Road awaits you. With some epic climbs and hair-raising descents, this option should not be taken lightly. Full respect to any rider who gives Torr Head a bash!!
Hi Clare, great meeting you the other day at Alkborough, to see how passionate and knowledgable you are in your subject is really inspiring, the photos are stunning, (are they all Wayne's? or are you handy with a camera as well)? Brilliant anyway, I try digiscoping but never really get anything anywhere near your standards, oh well I can but dream, love your blog, would love to learn how to create and upkeep it, is it relatively easy or are you just brilliant at it? Anyway keep posting, will keep following if I can understand it all, lol! Mick
ReplyDeleteHi Mick
DeleteMany thanks for the kind words, as a general rule of thumb all photos of birds are Wayne's everything else is mine! As for the blog it's easy, if I can do it anyone can you just need a means of resizing photos first which is a hassle but I use Apples preview app on my MacBook which seems to do a good job. It was a great afternoon with you and Pete down at Alkborough, if your over this way again let me know and I'll try catch up with you both!
All the best
Clare
Thanx Clare, would really like that so will do.
