A few migrants..

A sunny day without a howling gale at last so off to gather a few migrants at Messingham which included; 1 Whitethroat, 6 Blackcaps, 5 Sedge Warblers, 3 Reed Warblers, 22 Willow Warblers, 9 Chiffchaff, 1Wheatear, 1 Common Tern, 2 Little ringed Plovers, 1 Cuckoo, 2 Scaup.  Also 10 Brimstone, 1 Tortioseshell and 2 Peacock butterflies.  Closer to home we also had 2 singing Cettis Warblers and another Cuckoo.  So at last spring migration fully underway with a large number of Sandmartins, 2 Arctic Terns, 16 Yellow Wagtails and 6 White Wagtails also seen on Wednesday at Bagmoor and a Ring Ousel down at Burton Brick Pit.  Wayne also fitted a twitch in on Monday evening to Flamborough to see a Baikal Teal which alas my sciatica prevented me from seeing!
