We left Taffi early in order to get over the pass and down the barren western slope to get down to a sandy area early to find two more endemics, the Sandy Galito and White-throated Cachalote which we saw without too much trouble. We then moved on to a nearby sandy scrubby wooded area, a habitat known as Monte which proved very productive.
We had to leave this area around lunch time as we had a long drive north which took a lot longer than anticipated as the road turned to gravel but the scenery was just breathtaking.
